NAPA Initial Online Training (November’s Special – 50% Off)
Dive into the World of NAPA, online!
The initial training course is intended for people with none or very little NAPA knowledge. After the course, the participants have basic knowledge about NAPA as a ship design and statutory calculation program. The participants are able to create their own ship project from scratch and after defining all the necessary definitions, conduct calculations and output with the created 3D ship model.
The course is split into two parts: Geometry and Calculations.
Schedule and contents
The first 2 days of the course focus on geometry modelling with NAPA. The participants learn about NAPA geometric objects, how to use them to create the hull surface and further on, the complete 3D ship model. The basic hydrostatic analysis for the watertight hull and the individual watertight compartments is conducted by using the created ship model.
- Day 1: Introduction to NAPA, frame system, curves, grid surface, links
- Day 2: Hydrostatic calculations, special surfaces, compartments, ship model, capacities, exercises
The last 3 days focus on the calculation tasks of NAPA. The participants define loading conditions and then use them for intact stability criteria assessment. Both deterministic and probabilistic damage stability (acc. to SOLAS II-1) as well as damage stability criteria are covered during this part.
- Day 3: Preparations for stability calculations, loading conditions, intact stability criteria, exercises
- Day 4: Deterministic damage stability and damage stability criteria, output, exercises
- Day 5: Introduction to probabilistic damage stability calculations acc. to SOLAS II-1 (SOLAS 2009/2020), exercises
NAPA Designer, Text / Macro / Table Editors, Calculator and Output tools, are also covered during the course together with the other topics.
Each training day consists of 2 sessions, one in the morning and another in the afternoon, 3 hours each.
The indicated start and end time of the training sessions are given in EET (Eastern European Time) / EEST (Eastern European Summer Time) during summer) and can be changed to best accommodate all training participants depending on their time zones. If you are in a time zone further than +2 … -2 from EET/EEST, please contact us before registering.
